Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born November 19 1959. Her performance on screen and stage have been praised over the course of her three-decade-long career. Additionally, she was in the running for 2 Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston and grew up in Dayton (Ohio). Her Kenyon College graduation earned her an award from The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney became a television star in 1999 as C. J. Cregg as a character on the NBC's political drama The West Wing (1999 to 2006), where she won Four Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney got an award called the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding actresses in Drama Series. She won this award for her performance as Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex. Janney has been recognized for the prestigious six Primetime Emmy Awards, and she won twice the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Drama Series.
