Alison Wright is an English actor from the UK. She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2017 for her role as Martha Hanson, the star of FX's period spy series The Americans. The other roles she has played are The Ryan Murphy series Feud, Bette & Joan in Hollywood. Wright was born on July 12, 1976, in Sunderland. Her adoptive parents raised her there. She began dancing and acting at a young age. She attended the New York City's Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute and The Barrow Group. While auditioning for parts, she worked as a server. The love of her life, scuba was what put her into a deep coma after she was scubadiving in the sea, she experienced an cardiac arrest. After a few days she died in peace, surrounded by her beloved family members, who flew in to her side in the hospital. Wright was taken in by her parents as a child and raised in Sunderland.
